Meet the Executive Board

Your Leadership Team

Spotlight Executive Board meets weekly. They have 10 office hours a week and plan over 50 events each semester.

Co-Operation Mentors

Marissa Boyd is in her third year at UCM majoring in Criminal Justice with a minor in Corrections and Psychology. Her hometown is New London, MO.  Marissa's favorite thing about Spotlight is being able to make connections all over campus and trying to get students involved. She loves UCM because she able to live somewhere very different from where she grew up and be able to meet people that she never would have encountered in her hometown. She enjoys reading and watching Harry Potter, baking, shopping and buying people gifts.

Cayla Thurman is a senior, majoring in Psychology from St. Louis. Her favorite thing about UCM is the diverse individuals that create a welcoming environment for everyone. She thinks that UCM is a place for everyone. We embrace individuality along with challenge each other academically and professionally. Cayla is excited to be a Co-Operations Mentor for Spotlight assisting in igniting Mule Pride campus wide. She believes Spotlight can be a place for students to plan or participate in events that cater to their individual interest.  Also Spotlight is a good place to network with different parts of campus. 

Vice President of Marketing

Faith Ford  is a Modern Language Major with an emphasis in Public Relations. She is Belton, MO and chose to come to UCM because of the campus atmosphere. Faith is super excited to be on the executive board for Spotlight because it will allow her to help create the campus environment that she was so excited for when she chose to come to UCM. Students should get involved with Spotlight because its fun and a great way to meet new people.  

Vice President of Membership

Jessica Strathman is Spotlight's new VP of Membership. She is from Higginsville Missouri and is majoring in Biomed/Cell and Molecular Biology. Her favorite thing about Spotlight is how it allows for students to have a say in what events are brought to campus. Her favorite thing about UCM is its small size which allows for students to form close bonds and have a chance to shape their experience. She believes that students who want to get involved on campus and have fun while doing it should come check out The Spotlight!

Comedy Coordinator

The Comedian Coordinator is Abbey Bollinger. She is a senior majoring in Psychology and a minor in Child and Family Development. Abbey is from Platte City, MO. Her favorite thing about Spotlight is getting more students involved with campus activities. In her spare time, she likes to hangout with friends and learn how to cook new dishes.

Recreation & Leisure Coordinator

The Rec & Leisure Coordinator is Taylor Kemna, who a senior Criminal Justice & Crisis Disaster Management major. She is from Stockton, MO and her favorite thing about Spotlight is the opportunity to create something unique and fun for the students of UCM. Taylor’s favorite thing about UCM is the sense of community and belonging she has discovered amongst her friends and organizations over the last three years. Her favorite thing to do is drive around country roads listening to music or having deep conversations with friends.

Pride & Traditions Coordinator

Ideas & Issues Coordinator

Brianna Dixon is first-generation student from Independence, MO working towards a Sociology degree with a minor in Africana Studies and History. Her favorite thing about UCM is how beautiful the campus is every season. She is excited to be on the Exec Board of Spotlight to make new connections with a diverse group of students and Brianna believes that students should get involved in Spotlight to broaden their experience here at UCM and in Warrensburg. 

Mules After Dark (MAD) Coordinators

There are two Mules After Dark (MAD) Coordinators and the first is Kelly Ford.  She is majoring in Elementary Education and  from Belton, Missouri. Kelly's favorite thing about UCM is all of the opportunities it has to offer.She is excited to be on the Exec Board of Spotlight because she enjoys being involved and is looking forward to hosting events that others can enjoy. Kelly believes students should get involved in Spotlight because it's a great way to meet new people.
